Rounds 7 and 8 of Amsoil Championship Snocross were situated within the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota—hosted by the historic city of Deadwood—famous for gold, gambling, and gun slinging. The track in Deadwood—small, but challenging—is built atop a rodeo arena within the Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds. Warm temps provided for an everchanging track, with soft and wet snow sticking to goggles and gear. FXR athletes struck gold in the Mt. Rushmore state, bringing home 34 medals—11 of them being gold. This past weekend marked the halfway point in the season—FXR athletes leading the points race in 9 out of 16 classes.

200 STOCK Riley Johnson #106, the current points leader, put his head down and charged hard in his final on Saturday, snagging the 3 rd spot on the box after going 1-2 in his heats.

120 CHAMP Though they be but little, they are fierce! FXR athletes dominated Saturday night’s 120 Champ podium.

AJ Skogquist #113 won both of his heat races on Saturday and went on to place 3rd in the final.

After winning both of her heat races, Avery Hemmer #415 claimed the 2nd place spot on the box in the final.

With a 2-2 finish in his heats, Wyatt Skogquist #172’s momentum catapulted him into a 1st place podium finish.

After placing 1-2 in her heats on Saturday morning, Jerzie Zielinski #510 finished 3rd in the final.

Currently sitting in 2nd in the points race, Kendall Rose #130 continued her success taking 2nd in Saturday’s final.

Naëli Lebel #518 took the win in the Jr Girls 9-13 class on Saturday. Lebel sits 11 points ahead of Rose in the points race.

Kendall Rose #120 is one of the handful of other athletes who race in multiple classes throughout each race weekend. After placing 2nd in her Jr Girls 9-13 final, Rose scrambled back to the starting line in order to compete in the following race where she scored an impressive 3rd place podium finish in the Transition 8-10 final.

Sitting 2nd in points, Carter Meyeraan #125 took the win in the Transition 8-10 final. While being interviewed on the podium, Meyeraan was asked what he tells himself on the track to make sure that he doesn’t mess up—he quickly responded with a smile, “You said it yourself. Don’t mess up!”

Isaac Peterson #612 went a consistent 3-3-3 on Saturday in the Transition 9-13 class. Peterson is currently 6th in points.

Crayden Dillon #906 is in a close points battle midway through the season—currently sitting in 2^nd and only 1 point behind the leader. After going 1-4 in his heats, Dillon scored 2^nd in the final.

Dylan Lebel #522 had a great weekend, placing 2-2 in his heat races and a big win in the final.

JR 10-13

To say Isaac Peterson #612 was consistent on Saturday would be an understatement. After placing 3-3-3 in the Transition 9-13 class, Peterson went on to score another 3-3-3 in the Jr 10-13 class.

Dylan Lebel #522 made another podium appearance, scoring 2^nd in the Jr 10-13 final.

 

Triple wins on Saturday for Cameron Cole #747—going 1-1 in his heats and taking the top spot on the box in the final. Cole is now 2^nd in the points race.

 JR 14-15

Quebec native, Emeric Legendre Perron #144, is no stranger to the podium. Perron has won every final in the Jr 14-15 class up to this point in the season.

 

 

JR 16-17

 Chance Tietjen #500, trekking his way all the way from New Jersey, placed 2^nd in the Jr 16-17 final after going 3-1 in his heat races.

 AMATEUR SNOWBIKE 

Crossover athlete, Taven Woodie #873, placed 2^nd in Friday evening’s Amateur Snowbike final. Woodie is sitting 2^nd in points.

 

 

SPORT LITE 

Emeric Legendre Perron #144 placed 1-2 in his heats on Friday and scored 3^rd in the final. Running podium tally for the weekend: III

  

Drew Freeland #821 won both of his heat races on Saturday. Freeland went on to score 3^rd in the final and is sitting 4^th in points.

SPORT

Circa 2018 in Deadwood, Kaden Woodie #890 sustained a gnarly crash which resulted in facial reconstruction surgery. When Woodie crossed the finish line in 1^st this past Friday night, needless to say, it was quite an emotional win for him, the Woodies Racing team, and the entire Snocross racing community.

 

 

Eric Downs #129 has been very successful over the years, but Saturday night was especially exciting. Downs took his first career win in the Sport class after going 2-4 in his heats.

 

PRO AM WOMEN 

Taven Woodie #873 is full of raw, natural talent as well as drive, determination, and a positive attitude to top it off. Woodie has been looking for a win in the Pro Am Women’s class, but yet again, first place evaded her. Woodie settled for two more 2^nd place finishes over the weekend on both Friday and Saturday nights, and remains 2^nd in points in the Pro Am Women class.

 

 

Tausha Lange #214 earned her fourth podium finish of the season, placing 3^rd in Saturday night’s final after going 4-7 in her heats. Lange is climbing up the points ladder, currently sitting in 3^rd.

 

 

PRO SNOWBIKE

Even though many Snowbike athletes were out in Aspen competing in the X Games Snow BikeCross over the weekend, there was still a good turnout of athletes in Deadwood. Jacqueline Riess #27 raced impressively smooth and took 3^rd overall in Friday’s Pro Snowbike class.

 

Hunter Lienau #176 was consistent and quick, placing 3^rd in both Moto 1 and Moto 2, which resulted in 3^rd overall on Saturday night.

 

 

PRO LITE

After a couple of rocky finishes in Shakopee, Theo Poirer #728 rallied in Deadwood where he claimed the #3 spot on the box Saturday night. The Quebec native is currently sitting 8^th in points.

 

 

PRO 

Hentges Racing’s Oskar Norum #40 has proved he has what it takes to be a serious Pro contender this season. Norum has not finished worse than 5^th in a final at this point in the season. The Sweden native continued his success over the weekend, going 2-2 in his heats on Friday and 3-5 in his heats on Saturday. Consistent, smooth, and confident, Norum claimed two 2^nd place podium finishes over the weekend.

 

 

Boss Racing’s Elias Ishoel #200 struck gold in Deadwood—chalking on his fifth Pro class win of the season Friday night after going 1-1 in his heats. Ishoel went 5-4 in his heats on Saturday, and went on to snag 3^rd in the final. Hailing from Norway, Ishoel is affectionately referred to as “The Viking,” and is sitting 1^st in points—currently 51 points ahead of Lincoln Lemieux.
