Future West Arenacross Championships | RD 5/6 Chilliwack, BC

December 7, 2017

Photos by James Lissimore We are exactly halfway through the Future West Arenacross Championship series and we will grind things to a halt now until the new year. The battles up front are heating up and we were sad to hear about Pro Am Lights points leader, Jess Pettis getting hurt at last weekend's race. Jess broke his arm and has gone for surgery earlier this week and will be on the mend for a while so we here at FXR wish him a speedy recovery. Let's take a look at some of the action that took place at Chilliwack with some of our FXR athletes to competed. See you guys back in Chilliwack on Feb 2/3.
Jess Pettis looking strong in both the Pro Am Lights and the Pro Open.
Davey Fraser powered through both nights and improving his results each weekend.
Focus is the name of the game.
Shawn Maffenbeier keeping things consistent in the Pro classes with podium finishes both nights.
Getting the jump off the start with Shawn Maffenbeier.
Charles Charlton would take 5/4 in 85 (12-16); 13/11 in Schoolboy and 8/9 in Supermini.
There's no touching Shelby Turner when she lines up for a Ladies moto. Shelby would go on to sweep both nights in Chilliwack.
Maffenbeier pouring it on in Pro Open. He would go on to finish a solid 3/3 last weekend in that class.
Team mates Maffenbeier and Pettis taking a moment to congratulate each other.
Hard charging Charles Charlton.
Deegan Nuyens taking on 4 classes at the Chilliwack rounds this past weekend. Solid results in all classes for Nuyens with a 7/5 in 250 Junior; 10/9 in 250 Open Junior; 1/1 in 250 Junior B and 6/3 in Schoolboy.
Marcus Deausy also nailing down some really good results last weekend. He took 1/1 in Schoolboy; 6/6 in 250 Intermediate and 3/DNF in Open Intermediate.
Davey Fraser would go 5/5 in Pro Am Lights and 6/5 in Pro Open.
A successful weekend for young Jayden Debodt. He would go 2/1 in 50 (7-9); 1/7 in 50 Open and 4/4 in 65 (7-9).

Heal up soon #1.
Fraser and Maffenbeier at the gate.
A quick fist bump for Pettis and Fraser at the finish line.
Cheers for the #1 after his Pro Am win on Saturday night.
Young Travis Gibbs is another rider you will want to remember. He is currently dominating the 65 (10-11) class and only a short 5 points behind the leader in the 85 (7-11) class.
Taking the checkers with Shelby Turner. Not only is she dominating the Ladies class, she's chipping away at the 250 Junior and Open Junior with 3/2 and 4/3 finishes last weekend in Chilliwack.
Pettis and Fraser battle it out.
Maffenbeier looking sharp in his Revo kit.
Just a little trash talk after a moto between these two.
#beardmode for Maffenbeier.
Ready to take on the pack.
Let's see what the new year brings for #1.
