Rounds 9 and 10 of Amsoil Championship Snocross took place in historic Deadwood, South Dakota, nestled in the beautiful Black Hills. Deadwood is one of the favorite stops on the tour, always dishing out bar-to-bar action in the tight bull ring. Warm temperatures leading up to the weekend raised concerns, but crew was able to blow enough snow to deliver a satisfactory track, as promised. FXR athletes struck gold in the Mount Rushmore state, bringing home a whopping 52 total medals, 16 of them being gold.

STOCK 200

Tayte Blasey #121 reeled in two podium finishes over the weekend as well as a handful of heat race wins. Blasey took 1st place in Friday’s final and 3rd on Saturday.

Trenton Peterson #28 claimed the top spot on the box in Saturday’s Stock 200 final after going 3-3 in his heat races.

Oakley Hallaway #968 placed consistently in Friday’s Stock 200 class, going 3-3-3 for the day.

120 CHAMP

Jaxon Houkom #407 earned double heat race wins on Saturday and went on to take 2nd in the final.

Avery Hemmer #415 claimed the big win in the 120 Champ final Friday night, coming off of a heat race win earlier in the day.

TRANSITION 8-10

No stranger to the podium, Riley Johnson #106 found himself on the box twice over the weekend. Johnson went 3-3 in his heats on Friday and took 2nd in the final. On Saturday, Johnson went 1-3 in his heat races and took the win in the final.

Avery Hemmer #415 took 3rd place in Saturday’s Transition 8-10 final after claiming double heat race wins.

JR GIRLS 9-13

Ana Wensloff #174 placed 2-2 in her heat races on Saturday and went on to take 3rd in the final.

After winning both of her heat races, Cecily Bernaiche #24 took 2nd place in the JR Girls 9-13 final.

Kendall Rose #1 was consistent and quick, resulting in a perfect day on Saturday. Rose won both of her heat races as well as the final.

TRANSITION 9-13

Brady Freeland #831 had another successful weekend, going 2-1 in his heats on Friday and taking the big win in the final. Freeland won both of his heats on Saturday and went on to take 3rd in the final.

 

After placing 1-2 in his heat races on Friday, Dylan Lebel #522 kept the momentum moving into the final where he took 2nd.

Carter Meyeraan #125 placed a consistent 2-2 in his heat races on Saturday. Meyeraan went on to take another 2nd place in the final.

Tanner Johnson #313 had a nearly perfect weekend in the Transition 9-13 class. Johnson won all of his heat races between the two days of racing and earned a 1st and 3rd place podium finish.

 

JR 10-13 

Brady Freeland #831 earned a 3rd place podium finish after going 2-2 in his heats.

Tanner Johnson #313 won both of his heat races in Saturday’s JR 10-13 class and went on to take 2nd in the final.

Carter Meyeraan #125 landed on the box for the second time of the day—this time on the top spot after also winning both of his heat races.

JR 14-15

Lawrence Eeg #810 took home two 3rd place medals in the JR 14-15 class over the weekend. On top of his podium finishes, Eeg also earned a handful of great heat race finishes.

Isaac Peterson #612 continued his success over the weekend, winning 3 of his heat races in the JR 14-15 class, as well as a 1st and 2nd place podium finish.

JR 16-17

Thomas Levi #708 went 2-1 in his heat races on Saturday and moved on to take 3rd in the final.

Lawrence Eeg #810 claimed his third medal of the weekend, taking 2nd in the JR 16-17 final after going 3-5 in his heat races.

Jan Even Romsdal #117 placed 1-2 in his heat races on Saturday and went on to win the JR 16-17 final.

SPORT LITE

Chance Tietjen #500 raced consistently in his heat races over the weekend, taking 2nd in all four heats. Tietjen also scored two podium finishes between the two days of racing, taking 3rd on Friday and 2nd on Saturday.

 

Cameron Cole #747 cashed in another successful weekend, landing on the podium twice. Cole went 1-2 in his heats on Friday and went on to take 2nd in the final. On Saturday, Cole placed 2-1 in his heat races and claimed the win in the final.

Crayden Dillon #906 won both of his heat races in Friday’s Sport Lite class and moved on to also win the final.

SPORT

Crayden Dillon #906 was successful in the Sport class as well over the weekend, taking 3rd in Friday night’s final after earning a heat race win.

Eric Downs #129 placed 4-2 in his heat races on Friday and took home a 2nd place podium finish in the final.

Sport rookie Domenic Hegman #113 landed on the box in Saturday night’s Sport final, claiming 3rd.

Kellen Chapuran #254 took 2nd place in Saturday night’s Sport final after going 4-3 in his heat races.

PRO AM PLUS 30

Seth Engel #447 placed a consistent 3-3-3 on Saturday.

Joe Kohegyi #432 went 1-2 in his heats on Saturday and moved on to take 2nd in the final.

Devin Denman #972 took an exciting win in the Pro Am Plus 30 final on Saturday after placing 2-1 in his heat races.

PRO SNOWBIKE

#157 Troy Horbaty’s chase for the championship continued over the weekend as he battled with Jesse Kirchmeyer #1. Horbaty earned identical results between the two days of racing—going 3-1 in his moto’s both Friday and Saturday which resulted in two 2nd place overall finishes.

Jesse Kirchmeyer #1 also placed consistently between the two days of racing, going 1-2 in his moto’s on both Friday and Saturday, resulting in double overall wins to round out the weekend.

PRO AM WOMEN 

Makenna Kleiman #199 had two more great rounds of racing, landing on the podium both Friday and Saturday. Kleiman took 2nd in Friday night’s final after going 2-4 in her heat races. On Saturday, Kleiman took 4th in both heat races and went on to take 3rd in the final.

 

Malene Cottew #93 had a nearly perfect weekend in Deadwood, winning all of her heat races as well as Friday night’s final. In Saturday night’s final, Cottew came off her sled in the first lap and was able to race through the pack all the way back up to 2nd.

PRO LITE 

Ryley Bester #151 continued to prove that he’s one of the top dogs in the class this season. Bester placed remarkably in his heat races over the weekend, going 2-1 on Friday and 1-1 on Saturday. Bester had some close battles in the finals, and claimed two 2nd place podium finishes between the two nights of racing.

 

 

PRO 

Oskar Norum #40, sporting his flashy new white FXR gear, made his second podium appearance of the season, taking 2nd place in Friday night’s Pro final after going 5-3 in his heat races.

After going 1-4 in his heats on Saturday, Elias Ishoel #200 claimed 3rd in the Pro final. Ishoel remains the points leader, though the gap between him and 2nd is getting narrower.

We have a quick turnaround this weekend with back-to-back racing for the remainder of the season. Rounds 11 and 12 will be held at ERX Motorpark in Elk River, Minnesota. Join us there on March 11th and 12th for more action-packed racing!
